As you may have learned, the COGCC is considering 2,000’ setback measures for Colorado.  These types of setbacks are exactly what Coloradans overwhelmingly voted down just two years ago with Proposition 112, but the COGCC is trying to undermine Colorado voters and circumvent the legislative process.  

This unilateral policy decision would dramatically impact oil and gas development in Colorado with many far reaching consequences, including jobs, future tax revenues, and rising energy costs.  The COGCC is one of the most progressive regulatory agencies in the country and industry is willing to further collaborate on important energy related policy decisions impacting Colorado citizens.

Industry Letter

On Friday, September 18th the Denver Petroleum Club submitted a letter on behalf of over 180 companies within the oil and natural gas industry in reference to the current Mission Change rulemaking, and more specifically the proposed setbacks that are being considered, urging Governor Polis to consider the impacts such a rule could have on our industry.
