  About the Speaker

Kent Holsinger is the founder and managing partner of Holsinger Law, LLC.  The firm specializes in lands, wildlife and water law.  Kent’s efforts have been recognized in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and on National Public Radio among many others.  Kent serves as Secretary to the Board of Western Energy Alliance.  A founding board member of the Colorado Foundation for Water Education, Kent has served as Co-Chair of COGA’s Water Committee and as Colorado’s legal representative to the Upper Colorado River Commission.

Kent previously served as the Assistant Director for Water at the Colorado Department of Natural Resources and worked in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Senator Wayne Allard and Congressman Bob Schaffer.

He was named to 5280’s Top Lawyers for Agricultural and Rural Law for the past three years.  Kent was named to the Denver Business Journal’s Who’s Who in Energy for 2019 and was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2012.  He has served as president of the Colorado Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society and as Vice-Chair to Colorado’s Conservation Easement Oversight Commission.  Kent comes from a ranching family in Colorado’s North Park.

Fun fact:  On June 1st, Kent set a world speed record in class for a flight between the highest airport in North America (Leadville, Colo.) and the lowest airport in North American (Death Valley, Calif.).  He beat a record set in 1995 by nearly 30 minutes for a total time of 3 hours and 13 minutes.
