  About the Speaker

Mark Truax is vice president for Pac/West, a leading political public relations firm with offices in Denver, Colo. and Portland, Ore. Mark manages Pac/West’s rocky mountain operations and natural resources work, bringing a range of experience, including expertise in campaign management, government affairs, outreach, and communications. Mark manages a multitude of campaigns and projects on an array of topic areas. Most notably, Mark serves as Director of Operations and Coalitions for Coloradans for Responsible Energy Development and Deputy Campaign Manager for Protect Colorado, where he manages the day-to-day operations of the statewide campaigns focused on educating Coloradans on fracking and defeating ballot measures aimed at attacking the oil and natural gas industry.

Before returning to Pac/West in 2013, Mark worked for the National Association of Conservation Districts in Washington, DC where he oversaw the western United States and managed the Association’s work with the Department of the Interior and the U.S. Forest Service as well as the House and Senate Resources Committees. While with the Association, Mark worked on a number of natural resources issues including public lands, wildlife, energy, and endangered species.
