Thinking About Basins Differently

sponsored by:

Upstream has reset: fewer companies, fewer dollars and fewer plays. As such, upstream players need to rethink the way they do business starting from the rocks. Moreover, the recent phenom of the tight rock revolution has shown how lucrative that can be. One area where we have been stuck in a geologic time warp is basin thinking. This talk will discussion how to approach basins differently and how that can lead to new resources.

Join us for part one of the four-part series "Battle of the Basins" - admission is $20 for members, $35 for non-members. If you attend all four sessions, you will receive an extra entry into the prize drawing (see below for details).

Online registration is now closed; day-of registration is available at the door starting at 7:00 AM for $35 (cash/check/cc). As a reminder, all sales are final; however, guest substitutions are available.

About the Series

Battle of the Basins is a four-part speaker series that features information about the top basins in our country today. The series will kick-off with a “Super Basins” presentation followed by three basin-specific presentations that will include the average well type curve, cost structure, marketing and take-away capacity, key challenges from a regulatory perspective, and more.

Following the fourth presentation, all attendees will be invited to vote on which basin won the “battle”. The winner will be announced at our annual holiday party on Thursday, December 6, and a $1,500 donation will be given to the Oilfield Helping Hands Chapter associated with their basin. In addition, each attendee who votes will receive an entry into a prize drawing for restaurant and retail gift cards. Join us for one, two, or all four sessions to find out which basin is the best!
